Types of tests

When carrying out manufacturing or quality processes, it is very important to take into account material testing.

When a company manufactures a particular product, it is important to verify that it is being made correctly, for this it can be subjected to different types of testing, such as:

- Compression tests: These tests are performed with a hydraulic or electric press, and their mission is to find out the load that the piece supports under compression. For this purpose, our range of MES compression machines is the most suitable for concrete and cement. The standards that govern it are EN 1015, 12390, 14488, 196, 83515, 1170, 1052, 67037, 22950, 14158, etc.

- Tensile tests: In the world of construction it is very common to have to know the stress that corrugated steel bars support. For this purpose, they are subjected to tensile tests, with tensile machines, usually with hydraulic grips, in order to determine their elastic limit, safety coefficient, etc. Our range of ME-402, ME-405 and MUE-403 tensile machines are the most suitable for this type of tests, provided with the appropriate grips (ASTM E8, E9, EN ISO 15630, 7468, etc.).

- Bending tests: In many occasions, what the manufacturer is interested in knowing is the resulting deflection when exerting a force on a part that is supported at 2 or 3 points, these are the bending tests. For this purpose, specific fixtures are needed to support the manufactured parts and thus test them. The bending fixtures can be installed in all our materials testing machines.

- Fatigue tests: Within the world of materials testing, a very important type is the fatigue test, which we talked about in the previous article. There are different types, including indirect tensile, fatigue and stiffness, cyclic compression, etc. The EN 12697 standards in their various annexes specify in detail the fatigue tests or cyclic tests. Our fatigue machines are the MUF-401 and MUF-404 series.
